History.
Advocate Insurance Service was started in October of 1991 when Garth Weme took a job as an independent contractor with Mutual of Omaha in Bellingham, Wa. Feel free to visit us at our new office on the corner of Alder and Short to meet our staff and familiarize yourself with our services.

Garth Weme, owner and founder of Advocate Insurance, became licensed for Property and Casualty (homes and autos, buildings and liability) as well as Life and Health, and passed his securities 6 and 63 licensing.
Garth added many life and health carriers as well as mortgage sales to his mix of business. Learn more about Garth.
Jodi Brewington | email
Jodi Brewington started in reception and has worked her way to becoming a Licensed Agent. Jodi writes policies for the Personal Lines department, which means home, auto, farm, umbrella, recreational vehicle and inland marine policies. Her favorite part of her job is working with and meeting new people.
Jodi was born and raised in Sandpoint.
She and her husband have raised their family here as well. She has four children, two dogs, and two cats. She never wanted the cats. In her spare time, Jodi likes to spend time with her family. She coaches her son’s basketball and football teams and dances to 50s Billboard Hits with her daughters. In the summers, she enjoys boating, camping and perfecting the rose garden she and her daughter are tailoring around her home.

Michelle Marker is our Commercial CSR, which means she services all business accounts. The favorite part of her job is helping her clients fulfill their objectives.
A native Pacific Northwesterner, Michelle lives in Sandpoint with her retired husband and her Miniature Schnauzer, Maggie Mae. In her spare time she enjoys traveling to new places, going RV'ing, and spending time with her friends. Summertime finds her flower tending and taking day trips with her hubby on their motorcycle or restored 69 VW bug convertible. A recent trip to Hawaii gave her a new respect for island life..

Megan Brewington is the Personal Lines CSR and assistant to her mother Jodi. Her favorite part of her job is making other peoples’ lives a little easier. Megan is working on obtaining her license as an agent as well as a B.S. in English.
Megan was born in Calgary, Alberta but has spent most of her life in Sandpoint. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, crocheting, watching movies, spending time with her boyfriend, and playing video games, especially World of Warcraft. Megan enjoys the small town life but feels the need to travel to beautiful, new, and exciting places when she gets restless.

Danielle McGrath is our receptionist. Hers is the pretty face you see when you walk in the door. Her favorite parts of her job are working with the computer and her co-workers.
Danielle was born in Santa Cruz, California but has spent most of her life in Bonners Ferry. She drives to Sandpoint every day and has proven she will be on time come rain, sleet, snow or deer. In her spare time, Danielle enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and family, watching movies, hiking, and traveling. Last year, she spent a month with her sister in Orpington, England.
